When to go:

Late autumn and in particular the month of November is a good time to travel to Taiwan.

Taiwan is subject to typhoons in the May-October period.

Precipitation is abundant during spring and summer, especially in the mountains making hiking and outdoor activities in general impossible.

Avoid going to Taiwan on the occasion of the New Year celebrations which usually fall in February as the hotels are all busy as well as the means of transport.
