PE - Peru
When to go:
Unlike other countries close to the equator, Peru does not have a tropical climate in all its regions. The high Andean mountains determine a great climatic diversity between the different regions. The coast, up to 2000 m, has an arid subtropical climate with temperatures influenced by ocean currents, which also contribute to determining an almost absence of rain on the coast and a temperature more from a temperate zone than from a tropical zone.
In the sierra above 1000 m the climate is temperate, temperatures hovering around 20 degrees. Above 3000 m the temperatures drop further approaching 0 ° C.
In the Amazon, on the other hand, the climate is generally warmer and rainier, with temperatures between 25 and 30 ° C.
In general it can be said that the best time for a trip to Peru is from May to October, coinciding with the dry season.
