MO - Macao

How to find your way:
Macau Peninsula (Mun 半島 O Mun Pun To) – It is the oldest and most populated area of the Macau Special Statute Region. In 2005 its historic center was included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
Taipa (氹 仔 Tam Chai) – It is the island connected to the mainland by three bridges. There is the international airport.
Cotai (路 氹 Lou Tam) – It is the area south of Taipa. It stands on a strip of land torn from the sea. Today it has a high concentration of hotels and casinos built on the road of the isthmus that connects it to Coloane, called “Cotai Strip” in honor of the most famous “Strip” in Las Vegas which follows the model with imposing and equally tacky buildings.
Coloane (路 環 Lou Wan) – It is the name of the area even further south. It was once an independent island, a pirate lair until 1910. It has a hilly character and is the least developed area of Macau from a tourist point of view, although it does not lack green areas and beaches that on weekends serve as a reference for the residents of the busy Macau city center.
