ET - Ethiopia

The predominant type of climate is tropical monsoon, with topographic-induced variation in width. The Ethiopian highlands cover most of the country and have a generally much cooler climate than other equatorial regions. Most of the country’s main cities are located at altitudes between 2,000 and 2,500 m above sea level, including historic capitals such as Gondar and Axum. The modern capital Addis Ababa is located at the foot of Mount Entoto at an altitude of around 2,400 meters, an altitude which gives it a mild climate throughout the year.
