AG - Antigua and Barbuda
Barbuda is a completely flat coral island. Its surface is 160 km² and its inhabitants are just 1,500. It is about 60 km north of its older sister.
Redonda, on the other hand, is of volcanic origin, very small (1.6 km²) and completely uninhabited. It is located 56 km south-west of Antigua, between the Nevis and Montserrat islands. The distance that separates it from the latter is just 22 km. The walls of this volcanic cone that emerges from the marine abysses have been deeply eroded by the action of the sea so that it is difficult to land there. Redonda is also famous for having formed an elusive kingdom whose throne was claimed by old Irish sea wolves but also by famous short story writers such as Matthew Philip Shiell who boasted the title of King Felipe of Redonda.
When to go:
The temperature always fluctuates between 26-30 ° C and thanks to the trade winds there are no rainy seasons. The high tourist season lasts from mid-December to mid-April, while July and August are the hottest months.
