EC - Ecuador

When to go:

To plan the dates of a trip to Ecuador it is necessary to take into account the climatic differences in the various regions of the country summarized below:

Sierra de Ecuador – In the Sierra the dry season runs from June to September, the wet season from October to March. The first is called verano (summer), the second invierno. The temperature ranges are mild throughout the year, but pronounced from day to night. However, it should be noted that the high altitudes stabilize the thermometer on spring values.
Coastal region of Ecuador – On the coast, the rainy season runs from December to May. This is also the period when the thermometer rises as well as the humidity level. From June to September the thermometer drops. This is the best time to spot whales.
Amazonian Ecuador – In the Amazon basin region, the rains are frequent all year round but they thin out a little between October and December. Temperatures are considerably higher than in the Sierra and daytime excursions can be sensitive.
