When to go:
Being between 20 ° and 23 ° north latitude, Cuba has a typically tropical climate, moderated by the presence of the sea and by masses of cold air that come from North America. In July, averages are around 27 ° and in January 22 ° with peaks that can drop to 10 ° in periods when cold winds from North America blow. Precipitation is abundant in the months of May-June and September-November with maximum values of 3000 mm per year on the northern slopes of the Sierras and minimum of 1000 mm on the side of the Antilles Sea. The driest region is the one overlooking the Guantanamo bay. From August to October cyclones are frequent, mainly affecting the south-western part of the island.
