RS - Serbia

Serbia (in Serbia Република Србија – Republika Srbija) is a Balkan state in southeastern Europe that borders with Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, with Albania through Kosovo, with Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.

When to go
The climate in the north is continental, with cold winters and hot and humid summers, a south and south-western part is mainly hot and dry in summer and autumn and relatively cold and full of snowy conditions in winter.

Territories and tourist destinations
Belgrade – Properly called, it includes the area of ​​the capital, located at its northern limit, and the cities of Niš and Novi Pazar. Other places of tourist interest are the ski centers of Kopaonik and Zlatibor.

Šumadija – Central region of Serbia, surrounded by a splendid horizon of hills covered with woods: the area rich in culture and the pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. The main town is Kragujevac, whose name derives from the word “Kraguj” (a breed of falcon) which rises in the heart of the Šumadija. Other important towns in this region are Aranđelovac, Gornji Milanovac and Jagodina.
Vojvodina – Region in the north of Serbia, Vojvodina occupies a part of the Pannonian plain and its landscapes are completely flat. Novi Sad is its major center; another important city is Subotica, located on the border line with Hungary, near which is Palic with the homonymous lake.
Kosovo – Recently declared independence unilaterally and is currently under the administration of UNMIK, as required by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244. Kosovo is an Albanian, Priština is the main city. Another tourist attraction is the gorges of the Rugova river, the end of which is located in the town of Peć.
