Territories and tourist destinations:
      Jutland – The mainland region. The most famous centers in Jutland are listed below:
Århus, the country’s second largest city,
Aalborg,
Ribe which boasts the primacy of the oldest city in Denmark,
Billund, an internationally famous location as the headquarters of LEGO, the manufacturer of assembled plastic bricks and also for the Legoland theme park, set up by the same company.
Vejle, known for the church of St. Nicholas in whose transept there is a glass case which houses the mummified body of the so-called Haraldskær woman, who lived in 500 BC. C. and found in 1835 in a peat bog in Jutland.
Skagen, located at the extreme northern tip of Jutland, where the waters of the Baltic and the North Sea join, Skagen is very popular although swimming in its waters is not allowed due to strong sea currents.
      Archipelago of Funen (Funen or Fyn) – The island that welcomes Odense, home of the H.C. Andersen.
      Zealand (Sjælland) – The largest of the Danish islands where Copenhagen is located. Other famous centers of the island are:
Helsingør (Elsinore) – World famous for being the place where Shakespeare’s Hamlet is set. In Helsingør there is also the Kronborg Castle which is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Roskilde, ancient capital, famous for its majestic cathedral but also for a rock music festival that attracts thousands of young people from all over Europe.
Hillerød – City of 30 000 inhabitants which houses Frederiksborg Castle, the most spectacular in Denmark.
Although the term is obsolete, we can refer to this island or region with the term Zeeland.
      Lolland-Falster – Islands south of Zealand
      Bornholm – Holiday Island, home to legendary crusader churches and some excellent beaches.
Urban centers
Copenhagen (København) – The capital of the country.
Kalundborg – City in western Sjælland.
Kolding – City in the continental region of the country.
Other destinations
Denmark also includes the following territories:

Faroe Islands – Archipelago between Iceland and Norway.
Greenland – The largest island in the world, covered entirely by ice.
