HR - Croatia

Croatia (in Croatian Hrvatska) is a Balkan state that borders Slovenia to the north, Hungary to the north-east, Serbia to the east, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro to the south, while to the west it faces on the Adriatic sea.

The water is crystal clear especially in Dalmatia while the beaches are for all tastes: pebbles, rocks, gravel and sand. Numerous beaches and campsites are dedicated to nudists / naturists and are marked with the abbreviation FKK (see Naturism in Croatia). Where they are not present, it is possible to stay in some bay a bit far from the crowded beaches so as not to be squared by annoyed tourists.

When to go:
In Croatia there are four climatic areas. Mediterranean on the coast, semi-continental in the plains of the hinterland, alpine in the mountainous regions, more protected in the hinterland of the foothills.
The long, jagged Croatian coast on the Adriatic Sea, from the border with Slovenia to that with Montenegro, includes the following regions (from north to south): Istria, Kvarner, Dalmatia. The hinterland regions are Slavonia and central Croatia.
