KW - Kuwait

To know:
The name is the diminutive of an Arabic word meaning small fortress (along the coast). The ancient name of the region was Qurayn.

Geographical notes:
The territory of Kuwait, one of the smallest countries in the world and the only one without natural water reserves, is mainly made up of desert (less than 1% of the surface is cultivable), with slight differences in altitude (the maximum is 306 m asl). On the coast, 499 km long and equipped with a natural port in the bay of Kuwait, there are nine islands, of which only one (Faylaka) is inhabited and the largest (Bubiyan) is connected to the mainland by a bridge.

When to go:
The tropical climate is dry and hot which in summer can even exceed 45 ° C.
