September-October and March-May are the periods indicated to visit the country even if the heat begins to be felt already in the second half of May. These are also the periods when hotels charge high season rates.

The climate in Jordan varies greatly. In general, the deeper you go away from the Mediterranean, the greater the temperature contrasts that occur and the less rainfall there will be. The highlands above the Jordan valley, the mountains of the Dead Sea and Wadi Araba and the south to Ras Al-Naqab are dominated by a Mediterranean climate, while the eastern and northeastern areas of the country are made up of an arid desert. Although desert areas reach high temperatures, heat is usually moderate by low humidity and breezes during the day, while nights are cool.

Summers, which last from May to September, are hot and dry, with average temperatures around 32 ° C and sometimes above 40 ° C between July and August. The winter, which lasts from November to March, is relatively cool, with average temperatures around 13 ° C. In winter there are also frequent showers and occasional snowfalls in some high western areas.
